Dear fellow hematologist,

Continuing our efforts to promote the importance of lifeline learning, the European Board for Accreditation in Hematology (EBAH) is now proud to announce the implementation of the “Certificate of Up-to-Date CME”. The EBAH considers that obtaining the amount of 150 credit points over the period of three years is the minimum requirement for keeping up-to-date with accredited CME. Hence, we will grant this Certificate and send it to our account holders who reached the milestone achievement of 150 credit points in three years.

The Certificate will also remain available on your personal account in the system and an updated one will be issued every year to all account holders who reach this milestone (150 points in three years), so you can easily remain informed of your progress in taking part in accredited CME activities. The first Certificate, to be issued this year, will cover the activities of years 2013, 2014 and 2015, giving professionals an overview of their progress and encouraging further commitment to good practice in CME.

The specialization of hematology continues to be a strong and rapidly evolving scientific and medical discipline, powered by the rapid progress in medical science and the recent spectacular advances in technology and bioengineering. That is why it is essential to ensure that hematologists and healthcare professionals, researchers and scientists with an active interest in hematology attend high-quality programs and stay abreast of the latest developments in the field.

EBAH believes that raising awareness of the importance of lifelong learning in the hematological community encourages the overall quality of education events and, ultimately, increases patient care outcomes. With strict guidelines and thorough review that considers the specificities in hematology, the EBAH has gained high level expertise and efficient procedures, therefore it supports you in choosing which educational activities to participate in.

Hematology is a lively and fast-growing medical specialty which we are proud to continue to support.
